TAYAH LEE

I am an upcoming third year student of the Cognitive Systems: Cognition and Brain degree in the University of British Columbia. The process of cognition and how a person interacts with their environment has always fascinated me, and the Cognitive Systems program has allowed me to integrate my experiences with computer science, sociology, psychology, linguistics, and media.  Through growing up in Southeast Asia, I have developed an interest and appreciation for diversity of culture, the psychology and sociology of communication, as well as communication through different forms of media; topics which I immersed myself in through the interdisciplinary Media Studies program I took in my first year at university. International school in Malaysia also raised me alongside people of a variety of cultures and backgrounds, and exposed me to and trained me to work with to people who think differently than me.
