About This Website
As a student in the interdisciplinary program of Media Studies at the University of British Columbia, there have been many times in the year where I found myself relating material from one class to another. There were so many instances when a recurring theme would be talked about in several of my courses, varying slightly in each to relate the topic to the specific material of the class. Over these past two semesters, I've taken the classes: Media and Self Representation, Introduction to Film Studies, Introduction to Writing for the New Media, Culture and Communication, Computational Thinking, New Media and Society, Introduction to Systematic Program Design, Introduction to Social Interaction, and Studio Three: Digital Media. In most of these, if not all, we have discussed the themes of identity, self, self-representation, communication, socialization, new media, new technology, how it has changed everything, and what the future will look like. This website is a platform where I can gather all of those overlaps and connections and present it in an applicable way through some of my work, the work of my classmates, and that of several established authors. I aim to share this with those whom are willing to listen; so thank you for taking the time to hear what I have learned, and I hope you have found it as interesting and applicable as I have.
